Problem Situation:
With the ever growing population of America, the cities are bursting with people. Less availability for homes is occurring so people are being squeezed into small apartment complexes. For an example, New York City has a population of 8.406 million and is still increasing. With this large number of people in a small area, the city life is busy and loud. It is the city that never sleeps, so it is a surprise that any of its inhabitants can even sleep with all the activity. People of New York need a place to escape the crazy lifestyle that the city enforces to a place that is calm and clean.
In addition, due to so many people being crammed into a tiny city, sanitation is not very good. In most areas of the city, you can simply run your finger across a railing or subway seat and your finger will be covered in black gunk or other gross adversaries to your health. The streets always have garbage on them and second hand smoke is hard to avoid. The city takes a toll on a person's physical health. Even the stress of the city troubles can harm a person's state of mind and risk more severe health risks to the more elderly. It is important to get away from the city for the sake of your physical and mental health.
The Great Lakes is one of the best places to find peace and tranquility. Sitting on a boat in the middle of one of the gigantic lakes can calm the nerves of any man or woman; it allows a person to distress and breathe in the clean air of countryside. A houseboat docked in Lake Ontario would allow a person from New York City to visit for seasonal excursions to escape the city life. The houseboat could travel to any of the other Great Lakes and accommodate guests. Seasonal visits to a houseboat on the Great Lakes would not only increase a person's physical health, but more importantly, their peace of mind.
